Friedlander was then a key figure in curator John Szarkowski’s 1967 “New Documents” exhibition, at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City along with Garry Winogrand and Diane Arbus. Ron Galella (born January 10, 1931) is an American photographer, known as a pioneer paparazzo. Dubbed “Paparazzo Extraordinaire” by Newsweek, he is regarded as the most controversial celebrity photographer in the world, willing to take great risks to get the perfect shot. On June 12, 1973 Galella lost five teeth and suffered a broken jaw after actor Marlon Brando punched him outside a restaurant in Chinatown. Galella followed Brando, who was accompanied by talk show host Dick Cavett, after a taping of the Dick Cavett Show in New York City. Brando reportedly paid a $40,000 out-of-court settlement and suffered an infected hand. Read full wikipedia article.
